Synopsis of the Film and My Review:
A cocky scientist encounters a mysterious-foreign girl at a Halloween party which has a ripple that affects the rest of his life.
The scientist (Ian: Michael Pitt) has always been obsessed photographing the eyes of people he encounters. He believes in facts, no possibilities or ‘maybes’ in his thought arena. The ‘mystery girl’, (Sofi : Astrid Berges-Frisbey) turns out to be a gorgeous model, believes only in possibilities, spirituality and afterlife.
These two characters could not be more opposite in every way, but there seems to be an unseen force that draws them to one another.
The film plays on science verses spirituality- where Ian’s goal in life is to prove that there is no God and no afterlife through the science. Spirituality and religion believe in a higher entity for many reasons, one being the human eyes. They are believed to be “the window to the soul” with every person having their own unique patters and coloration. His thought is, if he can disprove creationism by proving commonalities between humans within their eyes then the world would be forever changed.
The yin and yang pair-Ian and Sofi- fall in love as he is on the brink of having a scientific breakthrough—he has everything he’s ever wanted…right?
This movie will make you think about life, love, science and spirituality in a new and unique way that is worth exploring.
