Karen Dufour, Presse Dufour, Design & Letterpress

More about Karen

Presse Dufour is a one-person design and letterpress studio based in the heart of New Orleans. Karen Dufour first worked in a printshop during college, then, after working as a graphic designer for many years, a chance encounter with letterpress reintroduced her to everything she enjoyed about design, paper, and the art of letter-writing. In her studio she likes to print in small batches on her Vandercook proof press. “I constantly driven to represent the natural and manmade landscapes which surround me,” she states. As a native New Orleanian, Karen is inspired everyday living “back home” in the heart of the Crescent City after living in Austin, Texas for many years after hurricane Katrina.” Through her work, Karen donates a portion of proceeds to many local organizations.

Presse Dufour products, whether note cards, fine art prints, or custom work including business, social, and wedding invitations, are printed on luxurious cotton paper made from cotton linters that are a side-product of the textile industry.
