Sound and Cinema combines movies and music for summer fun!

AUSTIN (KXAN/KNVA) — Nothing says summer like live music and movies while kicked back on the Long Center lawn!

Sound and Cinema is a free event for Austinites that provides free-live music before a classic movie is played on the big screen.

“This is our fourth summer, Alamo Drafthouse, Do512, and the Long Center partner together and do free outdoor movies on the long center lawn,” said Henri Mazza, VP of Special Events at Alamo Drafthouse. “Food trucks, free movies, live music before the movies, some of the biggest classics ever, fun for the whole family. Yeah, it’s hot during the day, but the sun goes down and the band starts playing, and I don’t know, but there is something magical about it.”

Tommy Boy was scheduled to play this Wednesday, August 17th but due to rain will be moved to next Wednesday, August 24th.
