AUSTIN (KXAN/KNVA) — It can be hard to get to a film to the big screen, but the Austin Film Festival is trying to help.
They are hosting a script reading of Amy Talkington’s new screenplay about the Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan story.
They enlisted the talents of Zosia Mamet (of the TV series Girls) and Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas, True Detective) to play the leads.
“I don’t think many people know this,” starts Zosia. “But I’ve sort of always wanted to play Tonya Harding. I’ve just always found her incredibly fascinating and dynamic and I think it’s rare that you come across female characters who are so layered, in that, I think she did have good intentions in her heart but she was also, in many ways depending on how you look at it, kind of a bad person.”

The live script reading is Saturday, October 15 at 1:15 pm.
